Hi, before I buy the yarn for this cardigan I am trying to work out the stitch count after the rib for left front. The pattern says 55 stitches after the 1st row but you start with 56 and increase 1 which is 57. What am I missing. Many thanks

    1. Hi Pam,
Thank you for getting in touch. I’m confused by your question:
Which pattern are you referring to and which size are you looking to knit?
      Best wishes, Natalie

Hi Natale,The Nosegay cardigan above. Sorry don’t have the pattern to hand at the moment (think 16 UK) but it s the size that says there are 56 stitches after the ribbing. It says to the increase a stitch centrally so there are 2 stitches for the stem and then gives a stitch count of 55 in the brackets

    1. Hi Pam,
Thank you: yes I see what you mean now! Apologies for this, I guess that error bypassed us all in that issue…
Is it ok if I come back to you about this after the weekend? I’ll need a decent amount of time to go over the numbers properly; I can see that the last three sizes of the pattern have the same problem (and while I’m there, I’ve also seen something else missing from the sleeve, oh dear).
Please could you send me your email address via the contact form on the ‘About’ page? I suspect it may be easier for you to refer to a cleaner version of the pattern rather than switching back and forth between different bits of paper.
I will also let the magazine know in case anyone else has had the same trouble.
Thank you again for getting in touch with me, and I’m sorry it had to be about a pattern error.
      Best wishes,
      Natalie
